One of the great advantages of a good dive operation is its intimate — and informed — knowledge of the area's reefs and its fauna.

We dove with Reef Divers out of The Little Cayman Beach Resort. Their dive breifings were informative and entertaining, especially divemaster Dottie's modern dance-interpretation of a lettuce leaf sea slug. Hilarious.

But they helped us find treasures, too. Texas native divemaster Sunny knew precisely where to find this delicate seahorse at Barracuda Bight.

While seahorses are not terribly mobile, they are tough to spot, often tucked away deep within the many branches of a gorgonia.

I doubt seriously, we would have found this one without Sunny's help. Thanks, Sunny. what a beautiful treat for the gallery.
