In another example of nature choosing gaudy contrasting colors over subtler tones, this rock beauty at Barracuda Bight reef is a type of angelfish.

One friend told me this angelfish reminded him of Jessica Rabbit. Hmmmmmm.

In fact, we saw fewer species of angelfish than I'm used to seeing on Caribbean reefs. But the rock beauties, or Jessica Rabbits if you prefer, were pretty abundant.
