These graceful and tiny basslets were common on the reefs of Little Cayman. This one was at Marilyn's Cut.

They could be found darting up and down in a kind of vertical dance.

And with its complementary color scheme, the fairy basslet is quite a spectacle on the reef.

They caught my eye early. This was among the first few pictures I made on the very first dive.
