From above this elaborately marked yellow ray at Flat Rock reef near Allens Cay blends easily into the turtle grass. That might help it avoid becoming fodder for other larger rays and sharks.

Apparently, it has a lot of confidence in its camouflage and ability to blend into its hunting environment. I was able to move within inches of its snout before it was provoked to get up and move.
