Business End of the Trumpetfish

This is the posture divers often find trumpetfish in. They try to mimic the vertical branches of sponges, corals and the like to sneak up on their prey.

When they strike, their body will quickly coil and spring forward.

Like many fish on the reef, they have chromatophores that allow them to quickly change colors to take advantage of their surroundings and hide among other kinds of fish while they hunt.

Nature. Remarkable.
