Diving French Polynesia: Moorea

©2001 Ken Riddick
There were so many fish on the reefs that were new to us. In the evenings we spent a lot of time pouring down Hinano beers while poring over the many species identification books we brought along. Still, some of the fish evaded our identification. I had thought this one might be some type of hogfish or snapper.

After our return, Reynolds would identify this fish from R.F. Myers' Micronesian Reef Fishes as a Doublebar Goatfish.
