The shark feeding at Amberjack reef gave us the opportunity to see these amazing animals up close.

Occasionally, up very close.

I counted 12 sharks during this feeding frenzy. At first glance, it seems extremely disorganized. But as you watch closely you notice a distinct pecking order, the smaller animals looking for their opportunity for a bite but deferring to the larger animals when they come in.

And they are extremely efficient in the water. With a dozen sharks focused intently on the chumsicle and their competition, it was remarkable that I was only brushed once by a young shark. They seemed ultimately in complete control.
