You can probably figure out where this guy at Crab Mountain reef gets his name.

The trumpetfish uses his slender, elongated body to camouflage itself among the soft corals, sea whips and the like. He springs from a vertical position to catch his prey.

They were fairly common among the Exuma reefs, as they are on shallow reefs throughout the Caribbean.

Most of the diving we did was in relatively shallow water, allowing some pretty long bottom times. Our deepest dive was in the 90-foot range but mostly we were in 30 to 60 feet of water.
